Today was a shit show, let my email explain the relfex asystole or peri arrest.
Details:
Event: Loxwood Joust
Time: 11:17
Reason: Failure to assist cadet during urgent and emergency situation that's developing.
Involving: Ryan, Trevor - Assistance given by adam (thank the lord)
At 11:17 I noticed a 30-ish year old male who was leaning on their staff and had there head down this didn't look normal as he had originally been standing up moving around slightly and had looked basically like a white crayon. I saw everyone sort of staring around then and went to trevor to say bring the kit and bags and follow me as this gentleman had sort of collapsed to sitting on a 3ft elevated bench called the ashtray. On arrival to this gentleman and talking to him his LOC was confused so I immediately asked him to lay down and get his legs lifted on which he refused too doing as he didn't want to lie on the ground and we didn't have the wheelchair or carry sheet or anything like that yet. At that point he went unconscious while talking to me with low resps and an un gathered pulse due to clothing restricting access . At that point I had attempted to regain consciousness and try to get him onto the ground, i had used trapezius pinch's and other methods with no gain in consciousness after 25 seconds which at that point ryan came over with only a radio at which point i had asked for more kit and radioed in for an priority and urgent assistance as i didn't have either a primary bag or a defib which at that point was borderline being required as he was about to be moved to floor and clothes removed for defib pads as he had not yet recovered consciousness id say roughly for 45 seconds and 20 seconds of no respirations visible. Eventually he woke up and was treated but at the time he had recovered no kit had been delivered to me after approximately 2 minutes and having shouted for assistance. I was left on my own for a long period before assistance from adam after request on radio. Too which after that my only assistance was with adam and neither of the rest of my team. Luckily OBS were all good and it's likely he only had fainted and got unlucky.
The level of incompetence especially from ryan not getting me help especially after witnessing shouting down the radio and looking at the gentleman completely unconscious is a complete and utter pisstake.
Thanks,
Sam.
